Many of us only talk about grief and fear in the context of funerals, as if death is contained to the funeral home and not part of our everyday lives. Yet as followers of Christ, we have hope that extends far beyond the here and now. These Sunday mornings we will confront grief, fear, and loss, because God’s presence brings comfort in all circumstances. We are called not to grieve like those without hope, but to live in the assurance that God’s promises transform fear into peace and sorrow into enduring hope.
